Homosexuality has existed as far back as history has been written. I'm not sure there is a part of the theory of evolution which addresses it, but there is no doubt that it is a natural form of human nature. Whether societies have valued it or condemned it has changed with societies across time. But, whatever society in the past, future, or present believes about homosexuality, it does not make it any less a natural part of human existence. The only evidence I can think of to support this is that it has been shown that the more older brothers a man has, the more likely it is that he is gay. Whether this has to do with the balance of prenatal hormone exposure or other intraunterine evironmental factors is not known yet, but if many boys are born, maybe the later ones are born homosexual for this reason to keep them from also needing one of the women in society.
There have been many societies which have punished and condemned, even killed people for being lefties. We don't deny that it is natural for people to be born left-handed, but we also cannot explain why left-handedness might have arisen through evolution.
A possible mechanism could be within a society with more men than women. In this situation, a homosexual man would be highly valued to help hunt for food and provide for the community, but without having to have a woman of his own. This way, the extra men in a community, who were not chosen by the women, would have a purpose to helping the community. I think this is true today, that gay men really contribute greatly to our society and they also don't make the population go up... though in today's society there happens to be more women than men.

My theory is that humans, being social creatures, evolve in societies, which have survival advantages that determine success or failure, and themselves evolve. Societies require a lot to be done. To be sure, raising kids is extremely important, but thats not all. A certain number of people who are not occupied with the raising of children have always been required to do the other things, and those have ranged from hunting or war to spiritual leadership and nurturing the young. The fact that there have been gays throughout human history is enough to prove that it is not only natural, but necessary.

Evolution theory? You mean Darwinism?
You won`t find it there. That lead to the gassing of homosexuals as inferior mistakes that wouldn`t advance the species.
