Does anyone remember the old Snuffy from Sesame Street back in like the 70's?

I didn't know Snuff looked so awful! Scary, even!

Yes, I remember Snuffleupagus! He was a bit scary, in fact. It's interesting how a rather scary character can be endearing when presented in a lovable manner to youth. I look at Howdy Doody from my childhood and think he looks like an axe murdering Chucky type doll now but he was great when I was little.

What would be interesting is to know how many people named pets after him. A friend of mine named his wolf Snuffleupagus. Snuffy was a great wolf. We got him when the friend moved to the city and couldn't take him but had to give him away when we moved, too. He was really sweet, in fact, in spite of being a full-blooded wolf. You couldn't really expect to keep him in the yard, though, since he'd been raised and lived in cabins in the woods where he had miles of land to run on. It was sad to give him up.

I love Snuffy! It was rather jarring to watch Sesame w/ my kids the other day and see him all stringy looking.

Of course I remember Snuffy. But my favorite was Grover. Especially when he dressed up like Super Grover and he'd fly into walls and ****.
