Maybe not overhyped but certainly getting more press because of the new stadium, and acquiring Edgerrin.

Actually the defense has been pretty good the last couple years, but it's hard to stay focused when your on the field 3/4 of the entire football game. With the additions to the offense it should give them the boost they need to at least be competitive on both sides of the ball and give that D more than a couple minutes of rest at a time.
Do I think they are going to kick @ss...No, will they be better, Yes. Will they make the playoffs...Maybe. Yes they are a bit overhyped but that's what happens when a mediocre team gets a highly rated player(s) and a shiny new stadium in the same year. Coincidence, I think not!

....Lets face it...the Cardinals have the best offensive set up in the league at this particular point in time. Kurt Warner with Lienart(spelling?) to back him up...Boldin and Fitzgerald to throw to, Edge to run and take screens...all they need to do is prove that they have an offensive line that can hold under defenses like Chicago, Pittsburgh, and Seattle..the ones that hammer the blitz...they didn't do so hot against those kind of defenses last year. Their defense is going to need a miracle...you can't win games just by scoring a lot of points if your defense doesn't stop the other team enough. Cincinati found that out when they played Indianapolis (45-37)...Cincinati scored a lot of points...but in the end...their defense couldn't stop Indy from scoring a lot of points...lesson Arizona needs to learn fast...maybe they'll pull a miracle defense like Indy did last year...that caught everyone by surpise.
As far as overhyped...Not so much, people are just excited to see what they can do...I'll admit it...I'd like to see that as well...and I've got my own super cool offense to see this season. A lot of people still figure that Arizona wont get over 10 wins, and I can't blame them..playing 8 games in the desert...can't be good for anyone...even them. I'd go on a limb and say they get 10-6 if the defense holds...but I wont expect much....time will tell...

I don't think that the Arizona Cardinals are overhyped. This season, the Cardinals will have one of the best offenses in the league in my opinion.
The Cardinals offense next year will feature Kurt Warner, Anquan Boldin, Larry Fitzgerald and Edgerrin James. Last year, Kurt Warner showed that he still had it in him when he was surrounded by talented players. Boldin and Fitzgerald would fall in that category. The Cardinals have the best one - two punch in terms of their receiving corps with Boldin and Fitzgerald. Last year, both of these players had over 1400 receiving yards. No other team in the league can say that. With the addition of James to take some heat off Warner, the Cardinals suddenly have one of the league's best offenses.
I think that you are slightly mistaken when you claim that Arizona doesn't have a defense. In reality, the Cardinals D is quietly one of the better defenses in the NFL. Last year, they finished in the top 10 in terms of yards allowed per game (8th) with 295.6 yards per game given up, 10th best in rushing yards allowed per game (102.0) and 12th best in passing yards given up per game (193.6). I do agree with you that the Cardinals could use another solid defensive player. Their defense would be truly top knotch if they landed a solid linebacker like Jonathan Vilma and others...
I believe that the addition of Edgerrin James to the Cardinals was a good move on the part of Cardinals personnel. This move can take them to the next level (Playoffs), but the rest of the team has to prove it and Warner will have to play like the all-star that he used to be. In reality, the Cards are a talented tight end short of making the playoffs.

Well, people expect significant improvement from them, but I don't think anyone expects them to either win the NFC West or be a significant contender for the Super Bowl.
Cardinals are falling into Cincinnati Syndrome, where everyone expects them to finally turn the corner and then they start 0-6. Cincinnati finally got there in the past season or two; the Cards are probably still a year away.
And if they hope to get there, they need to bench the washed-up has-been Warner by Week 6.

Overhyped? I don't know what you read about the Cardinals, but I've only heard mention that they had a good off-season. I've heard no one predict a run into the playoffs. In fact, I have heard the opposite. They may have a better year but I don't think anyone is hyping them for a Super Bowl run. So in answer to your question, no. In order to be overhyped they would have to be hyped about in the first place.
