Or any other Island out that way, I just don't know where it would be nice and safe. I would be going with my husband and my 3yr daughter. I also want it to be cheep and a very nice Hotel on the beach. any suggestions?

hi,
well i just went to puerto rico in march 2006.(i was also born there and visit every year.) if you stay in the tourist part called isla verde or san juan you will be paying very high prices for hotels.just because its a tourist part.i would suggest you rent a car at the airport and do some research on gotopuertorico.com and puertoricosmallhotels.com you will see paradores listed there which are very nice bed and breakfasts on the island there are some on the beach and they are much less expensive.also use hotwire and travelocity.com to look at the hotels they have some great pictures and virtual tours.puerto rico is a safe place just as safe as anything else just be careful and try not to carry too much cash.i brought my debit card and some travelers checks.just use the same caution that you would use anywhere else.travelocity is the best for travel arrangements including air. i used jet blue airways and did not like it.they gave you junk food and it was a small and uncomfortable plane.i recommend continental,american airlines.jetblue.com is where you can get more info.you wont see them advertised on travelocity.

I would suggest that you go to the Dominican Republic.
It will be cheaper, and the DR has some great beaches, try some of the smaller resorts. In Puerto Rico, you will be paying US prices.
I suggest you travel by Jet Blue to the DR.
Personally , I perfer the east coast.
Best time to travel, Jan, Dec , Jan up to March.

You can buy a "package" from American airlines with everything included, try a resort that is right on the beach you will have so much fun in the Dominican Republic its a beautiful place.

Sunscape the Beach is by far it the best resort I've stayed at in DR. It has a wonderful kids club. My sister and I felt completly comfortable leaving the kids at the club. Once you sign in the children, they give you a cellphone in case your child needs to reach you. The only con is that it is 50 mins from Punta Cana airport, but it is worth the ride trust me!
