Because society and the media make such a huge deal about it. I don't get why they do either...sure it's nice to see someone pretty or to get called pretty, but if that's what you judge people on...there is something wrong with you (not you, the majority of people today). I think looks should be an addition to a great person, not what makes the great person...

the main reason ppl obses about their looks it lack of confidence. u probably worry what other ppl think about u, wat styles are in or out, and u go with wat everyone else is doin, right? its a normal thing for most girls/ladies/women (whatever). if i were u, i would take a whole day without looking in a mirror. just put your hair up, dont bother about make-up, and throw on a pair of jeans and a top, then go shoppin. u really shouldnt obsess over your looks, as long as youre happy with yourself, then screw what anyone else has to say. and dont go WITH the crowd, go AGAINST it. thats what i do and im very happy with myself. whenever u see a girl with a cute purse, dont go out and by the same one, go buy one thats totally oppisite.
