The shoe fits perfict w/o the gel pad. So I geuss that Gel pad isn't the right pad for me. My theacher OK-ed my shoes and I got them fitted at a dance store.

Pointe shoes need to be very snug to keep you from sliding down into the box. I don't really see how your shoes could fit properly if you have room in them to put gel pads. You might have the wrong size. At any rate, having gel pads in them will probably by itself make you slide because it will keep your foot from getting the support and friction it needs against the bottom of the shoe.

NO!! You should NOT sink into the shoes. That means they are either too wide or too large for your feet.

Ok, when you try the shoe on at the store (never, ever, ever order your first pair, and never, ever, ever go with what's popular for other girls), you MUST use the same padding you plan to use while dancing in them.

Then, pop your foot up on point (one at a time). If it feels like you are slidding down, ask for a narrower shoe. Keep doing this until you no longer feel it.

Then, once that has stopped, you want to pinch the back seam. The seam should fit snuggly when you are flat foot, and pinch up slightly while on point.

Your foot should feel crowded but not cramped in the toe area while flat foot.

Pointe shoes are not comfortable, nor are they made to allow you "room to grow".

Your teacher should know how to properly fit a shoe in order to check all new pairs. If she doesn't, then she's not a compitant teacher, and should not be teaching kids to go on pointe.

This is not good...they should feel like they are supporting you. You may need new shoes already. Remember pointe shoes are valued in the amount of hours you work in them, not the length of time.

You may need a smaller sized shoe, or also you may need an insert in order to help to keep you from sliding......remember that your feet aren't always symmetrical, you may have one foot larger than the other that may cause you to feel like you are sliding.

I suggest consulting with your instructor and also, you may want to be professionally fit for new pointe shoes.

i've got time-honored an mind-blowing form of ballet dancers who do this and each so often I did. this is all a remember of convenience. each and every so often, dancers bandage for extra padding or so their feet do no longer rub up against one yet another at an identical time as dancing that would reason blisters and be incredibly painful. in case you do, it is not incorrect. It relies upon on the alternative of the dancer and it is common :)

They are suppose to feel like they are too small. Most people wear normal ballet shoes pretty loose, but pointe shoes are suppose to be snug.

no sinking in is not good. your pointe shoes should fit snug, like an extra layer of skin.
