How many legal residents of America are on minimum wage? I just want a number and some data to back up that number.

Around 2 million as of 2004..
About half are over the age of 25 to go against the rest of the answerers..
Keep in mind that these are just the workers making the "federal" minimum wage or less. Every state has the option of raising the state minimum wage. This doesn't seem to account for those people..

Not anyone I know, mostly minimum wage earners are school kids with a summer job living at home with their parents. Convenience stores and fast food chains in my area pay almost twice minimum wage to start.

I don't know but I haven't had a minimum wage job since I was in high school and then only for a couple of months.

Too many american citizens that is for sure. They should get a better education or training and get better paying jobs, leave the crapp work to illegals like the liberals say, let the illegals do the work we don't want to do. Just going back to a form of slavery but when a liberals does it, it is fine.

Not us..my husband is an attorney and gets $350.00 an hour....
Now in order to become an attorney he worked a lot of jobs for very little pay...he ate cheaply, he drove a crap car, and he gave up sleep for a long time....the American dream is not free...it comes with a lot of sacrifice, hard work, sweat, sleep-deprivation and a few tears...
