Horror films are my favorite so this is a tough one. When I was little it was Jaws-which is still one of my favorite movies. But as a 27 year old , it's not scary anymore, but still a good film. O.k. my favorite scary movie is House of 1,000 Corpses. In many ways it's like Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but alittle darker. It's scary because it's something that could really happen. The movie Hostel is the same way-the director Eli Roth read a true story of people paying to torture other people and came up with the movie based off that idea. Things that can happen make a horror movie scarier.

I think it was village of the damned or something like that, i was 7 and was supposed 2 b asleep but i was watching it with 1 eye. Some women was having all these scary children and they were killing ppl with hammers, and they looked like little freaks. I was traumatised for about a week and ran away ever time i saw a blond haired child.

It was scary cos i was little seen it since and am extremely embarrassed as it is total crap. pmsl.

The Exorcist- First of all, old horror movies are always the best. But mainly, it messes with your mind more than just gives you the willies. You question your morality, ethics, and religion. And it makes you wonder if this could happen. Horror movies like this stick in your mind and scare you forever. If you haven't seen it, watch it. You'll totally see what I'm talking about.

Jeepers Creepers. Scared the hell out of me (last scene), I could not even start to watch the sequel. When my husband rented part 2, I had to leave the room when he started watching it.

Oh, the scene where the guy & girl first found the underground "room" (early in the movie) that was the beginning of it getting bad. It ended REALLY bad, but I did manage to see that they left the story line open for a sequel.

An old black and white version of The Hunchback of Notre Dame with Charles Laughton watched from behind a chair because he was so ugly and revolting and scary.

Don't be afraid of the dark. I was 9 years old and watched it with my sister on a Sunday afternoon and we couldn't sleep for two weeks. There was a portal to hell in the fireplace and demons came in when it was dark and kept saying, "Sally, we want your soul." and theey dragged her to hell while she used the light from the camera until the batteries ran out. I still mess with my sister (25 years later) and leave her messages on her answering machine about wanting her soul. So creepy.

The original King Kong
I was about 5 when I saw it - long time ago - and remember hiding behind the sofa.

Also Jaws when it was first released - couldn't go to bathroom on my own for ages

crazy huh!
