I love all the seasons, but I'm getting excited about fall a little early this year. What do you like about autumn?

i think my favorite time is when you go outside one morning and something, i can't quite put my finger on it, but something is different.

i love everything about fall. the air feels and smells different.

the colors of the plants and trees just make everything seem fresh and crisp.

i love to see pumpkins for sale at the fruit stands.

i love the smell of pumpkin pie that seems to float through the air, even outside.

the change makes me want to cook alot. i make fresh apple pies and pumpkin pies, fresh baked breads(from a bread maker of course) and big dinners.

it is probably when people feel closer than any other time of the
year.

i am so glad you posted this question. it reminds us that we have something to look forward to after this scalding summer

Autumn is my favorite season but here in FL we don't really have different seasons. I am moving to NC in three weeks and just last night was getting so excited thinking about it because autumn will be starting soon after I get there. I love the crisp cool air, the falling leaves and the colors changing.

Thanks for the question, now I am in a better mood :D

The fact that I can begin planting stuff again. Its best to plant your new trees and plant in fall as opposed to late spring or summer. I'm actually happy come October. Oh and for the kids its a countdown to Christmas, vacation, etc....

I used to hate the colder climates. But I guess with age you learn to love them too. Plus the cooling of the nights here in So. Cal, and hopefully the beginning of a good rainy season.

I like the cooler weather after a long hot summer, the color of the leaves as they change and the crunch of dry leaves as you walk on them. I like to stargaze a lot in the autumn ... my favorite constellation of Cygnus is right overhead in the evening.

I live in Alabama. It cools off in the fall. YEAH! I love the colors of the trees. I live down the road from a very large wildlife refuge on a river. It's beautiful here. I also have auburn hair.....fall colors look great on me! Pumpkins, sweet potato pie, Thanksgiving, harvest time (live on a farm to boot), and not long before fall, SCHOOL STARTS!!!!!

Unfortunately here in south Texas, we only have 3 seasons: hot, hotter, and oh my God, how do you live in this? But, even down here it gets cool enough to turn off the air conditioning and open the windows. That thought alone, gets me excited thinking about Fall. I'm sick of the air-conditioning running!!!!

I like autumn b/c of the way the trees change colors and the fresh air is so refreshing.

It is the best time to travel because:
The crowds are less
The weather is cool but not cold
Travel costs are down in off season
Highway delays are less than in the peak summer driving
The trees are beautiful
There are a lot of small town festivals

there is a river near my mom's house that I would play near as a young boy. my all-time fondest memories are tied to the smell of the grapes dying on the vine dangling over the water right about the time when the leaves begin to fall in masssachusetts. Intoxocating. who knew death smelled so good?
