Check for dust on the main cpu fan, also check to see if the fan is working correctly.

What model is it. I had an NEC Laptop where the fan ran load and slow so the CPU was running hot but it always worked.

I would not worry to much as the power from your plug is 240v which goes into a transformer down to 19v output and then in the laptop is 5v/12v on the connectors so at max your blow a capasator or the transformer but not the laptop.

That is the way it is supposed to work. The ventilator is there to get rid of the hot air in the laptop. All laptops (and computers for that matter) generate a large amount of heat because of the processor and hard drives (and other parts).

I wouldn't too much about the heat. Laptops can let out a lot of heat - just think whats going on in there for such as small space.

If you can feel a lot of heat thats probberly a good thing - that means the fans are doing their job. Only worry when it catches fire - lol don't worry that only happens to mac books.

Also try and not to stick it on your lap to much because it could cause helth risks - and its just not worth it.

It's normal. I think something is wrong with the fans in my laptop though because if I have it on my bed for only five minutes it gets really hot and cuts off. My guess is that it overheats.

Yeah, i've had mine a week and it gets very hot and you can feel hot air blowing out - think its because im always lying on the bed with it and you're not supposed to. Its probably something like this.

Laptops can get very hot, in fact, if it is a Samsung of a certain age it is a known 'problem'. Nothing is actually wrong, but it is a bit disconcerting.

This is a normal effect on laptops. However, if you are a boy I would seriously advise you to remove the laptop from your lap area, because it can seriously reduce your sperm count. No body likes that.

This is so common that a study recently made the recomendation that men do not place the laptop on their laps for fear of reducing their fertility - poached eggs anyone?
