I have been having an aching pain in my lower abdomen and lower back. It's been going on for about a week. It seems to be getting worse. It's almost unbearable to bend over or to stand up. Yesterday I got a shooting pain in my abdomen for a few minutes.
Now here's the deal. I have no medical insurance and have been to the county health department before with such a problem (but not nearly as severe) and they can't seem to help. I already know I need to see a doctor, please don't tell me that but where can I go. I'm unemployed and only get $340 per month which hardly covers my bills. I am not eligible for medicaid. I have applied and been denied 5 times.

Also not to sound disgusting but my bf thinks it's intestinal and he told me they will put that scope up my butt!!! Will they? What's that like???

Hey sweetie! I hear you! Although I don't have your particular problem, I can completely relate to you as I do not have any insurance either. You already know that the solution to your problem is to see a doctor, so I won't tell you that. If only we had lots of extra money and insurance, we'd do a lot of much needed things. I totally understand you! I've worked for several doctors before and in the offices I worked in, they offered payment plans. Make your appointment, tell them you will be a cash patient and will need some sort of payment plan. Believe me cause I know from experience. Between you and me, as long as you show some activity on your account and pay one dollar a month, you will be okay and by law, you cannot be turned over to a collection agency. One of the specialists I worked for was a gastroenterologist and it sounds like your boyfriend may be right on. You may need the colonoscopy (scope up your butt, like you said, ha ha =) . It's not a bad procedure, even though it sounds bad. I've watched them performed before and my mom had it done. Believe me, it's so worth it. You really need some relief! Try to not let it go on much longer, it may be serious. There's no price affixed to saving your life! Just call around, find a physician that will work with you, tell them your situation and not everyone will turn you away. I really hope you get some help and start feeling better and even though I don't know you, I sincerely mean that! Good luck to you!

They may give you an endoscopy or the one that goes down your throat. They will sedate you and you will be asleep. Its just a standard procedure to test whats going on in your stomach area. They may even give you an ultrasound to measure your gall bladder, gall stones, liver and intestines. Do you have any other symptoms like gas or anything because its sounds like a gall bladder issue maybe? Look on WebMD.

Try a laxative to flush your system first and drink lots of water.
If antacid helps it is intestinal and if ibuprofen helps it is muscular or skeletal.Often we think that pain is from one source when it is something else.
Gas can be extremely painful.Try beano before eating. All of these will give you an idea of the origin of the pain and set you in the right direction.Good luck.

Go to an ER. They write off millions in unpaid claims every year for people who cannot afford their visits. It may be PID, or gallstones, or colitis. Who knows? Go to an ER, not a private urgent care. If all the transients and illegals in the U.S. can get free treatment there, then so can you. They have no choice but to treat you regardless of your ability to pay.

There's a HUGE plethora of what it can be. Gallstones is a good sign of what it could be. And it can't be fixed at home. So just go to the doctor and if you can have someone help pay for the visit?

Most likely a kidney thing, but just as serious-better get to the ER and get checked out. Better to be healthy and in debt then have permanent damage and be unable to work.

if you go to a hospital ER they have to help you reguardless of your ability to pay it back, or a lack of medical insurance. maybe a bladder infection, or kidney infection. or it could be your appendix...... go get it checked out.
