A lot of good ideas mentioned! I'm not sure what your relationship is to the girl, aunt, mom, sister, friend of the family. But if the two of you are close. A sweet, sentimental gift like a charm bracelet, and start off with just one charm. Example: birthday cake, number 10, any activity/hobby she enjoys like dance, swimming, purses, music, her initial, etc. Explain to her in the future there will be more. Then for special occassions: X'mas, b-day, Easter, accomplishments, etc. You can buy another one and add on to the bracelet. This can be an ongoing gift. Eventually, she'll have that sucker filled, and she can look at it as part of her history, what makes her soo special, and think of the bond you two have.

The Verizon Wireless Migo phone. Its a mini phone powered on americas largest, most reliable wireless network. It is designed for kids 9-14. It is only able to place calls to 4 different numbers (which you set up with Verizon) and 1 additional designated emergency key that would call 911. And Now if you have another phone with Verizon and you add the migo to your family plan you can use the VZChaperone Service. VZChaperone requires a Get It Now Capable phone. Say if the girl was to say I'm going to the park with some friends. You could then on your phone set up a radius of the park she was allowed to go to. If she was to leave that allowed area you would instantly be notified via text messaging. And the girls phone would instantly say with real words. Your leaving your allowed area please turn around. That command can be set on vibrate incase she's kidnapped and she doesn't want the kidnapper to know she had the phone. And if you really wanted to you could go to Verizon Wireless.com or log in to your Chaperone part of get it now and See exactly where she is (unless she left her phone somewhere)
