I had never heard about it before, but I found a reference on WIkipedia. It appears to be more woo-woo nonsense. Photons don't form belts, per se. If you want help debunking this BS go to the BadAstronomy/Universe Today forum.

Another theory, as 'far fetched' as this may sound, suggests the possibility of an alien colonization on December 22nd, 2012, which is also where the X-Files got this concept, like when the 'Elders' talked about the "Date being set". I know it sounds stupid, but it's fun to read up on!

Please X ref the Q about the speed of the universe, it's pretty Pfffphat!!! I would theorize perhaps the photons haven't paid their utility bill in recent months, or perhaps have been out partying hardily.
