When a person gets really rich, do they generally become "blinded" by the money?

...there are SO MANY examples of very rich people in this country who disregard what they do to other people and the environment etc. I am not saying that ALL really rich people are like this, but a lot are.

You're right that a lot of people are blinded by their money, but there are people (e.g. Bill Gates) who are rich but give their money and time to charities and other foundations.

Isn't it interesting that the more money one acquires, the more they separate themselves from those with little. How much is enough? When should they be satisfied with the amount they have and start giving the rest of their wealth to the less fortunate. Why does someone with a great deal of money think they are somehow better than another with less. I believe its fear. The rich are afraid of the poor because they realize that all they have could be taken from them and then they would be treated as they treat others.

I'm sure it depends on the person, I personally haven't met any really rich people. But the saying does go "Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely" and money is power.

totally... power brings corruptions to those people who have never had money and so on...
bring light so blind people and they may be confused... the same happens to those go get rich... they don't know how to manage money or how to use it... : )

I think they certainly do!! because they become greedy and forget about other people who have necessities in life. Their so optimistic and think money is all in life, which it isn't!
