i am a recent high school graduate and i want to know exactly what a lvn does? how do u start out? i really need some feedback on this...

My sister is in nursing school. She got accepted into a program with a hospital that has a relationship with a local college. They helped her get into the school program and give her a part-time job.

Usually the RN program is 3 years and the LVN program is 2 years in most schools for full-time study.

Here is the LVN definition:

Definition: LVN/LPN Licensed Vocational (or Practical Nurse. A non-degreed, healthcare provider with practical experience and basic education in nursing. Renders basic nursing care. Where the LVN/LPN practice act allows, the LVN/LPN's scope of practice can include administering medications, drawing blood, and starting IVs.(Additional certification may be required.) Works under the supervision of a physician or RN.
