I have chosen my own epitaph and it will read "Here Lies _________
All Dressed Up And Nowhere
To Go"

and at the bottom of my tombstone it will read " I Was Right"

I am a Buddhist, and firmly a believer in reincarnation. therefore, my epitaph would read something like a commercial break on the TV:
" I'LL BE RIGHT BACK, AFTER THESE WORDS
FROM MY SPONSOR."

and to answer your 2nd question, I'd say "serious"

life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, toys in hand,body thoroughly used up, totally worn out , and screaming WOO HOO,
