Ok, so I have a closed bottle of cola, i shake it, why when I open it does it fizz up, whereas if I don't shake it it all stays relatively unfizzed?

cuz of the carbonation and the sugars..but thats a guess..i used to know,,but i totally forgot..lol

Carbonic acid (CO2 + H2O) is very unstable. Shaking in is enough to separate it into Carbon Dioxide (C02) and water (H2O). The CO2 gas forms bubbles or 'fizz'.

"cabonation" means they have carbon dioxide gas disolved in them. When shaken, the gas escapes from the liquid and forms bubbles.

Because whern the carbon is exposed to air it turns to gas, but it cant until you open it because it cant realease the air.
