I have heard of this before and it is very, very sad. I guess the Islamic faith does not give much rights to women.

I have heard of this practice and it certainly believe it should be banned in our society. A massive education program, directed at those cultures, should be implemented immediately. It certainly should be expanded to ALL parts of the world, including the US. If this is occurring in Britain. it is likely occurring here. However, I don't understand what you mean when you say "if we lose" Free women of the world should make this an issue to be brought to the UN if it hasn't already have.But, remember, we are interfering in another culture's right to decide.

Oprah did a show on this. It's quite disturbing.
This is one of the issues America Should Be Handling.
These women have been begging for our help - but
you know the current administration - they don't watch Oprah
or PBS. It makes me cry.

to ginaforu5448: it is not an Islamic tradition, it is African. ( Muslims circumcise men for hygienic purposes).

It is their belief. it is strong if it still prevails.
fgm and especially the way it is carried out is horrible. you can educate, urge, pressure, but some things just stay in people's heads and get stuck.
