Well, obviously you can say "no" in a variety of ways. You can say "not tonight" "I'm busy" "How about tomorrow" etc.... But the fact that you have to ask this question makes it sound like maybe you have a hard time creating boundaries with people in your life. Are you letting people walk all over you for the sake of what's important to them? If so, then consider this a great time to start practicing the words "no" "another time" and "thanks anyway". It can be really freeing!

Tell them you're busy, and schedule a time to have them come over. Try not to be there during that period when they stop by. A couple of misses and a month in and they'll stop the habbit.

If they call you and ask to come over, say that you can't get together but you will call them when you can. If they just show up, answer the door and tell them it's simply not a good time but you'll call them when you can get together. Good luck!

The best way is to let them down easy.I mean you could make up excuses like your leaving or going out of town but it will keep happening.Just explain you are busy and would like to spend some time alone when you do have time.Explain you like them, if you do, but you will let them know the next time you would like to have them over.

Say you need to catch up on your alone time.
If you're concerned about being considerate, also set a date for when you would like them to come over next.

Just say no. It's not really that hard. Just........ say........ NO. But don't say it so mean that they never want to come there any more, say it calmly and maybe they will just say "O.K. See ya soon then!". It worked for me, so it'll probably work for you.
