Most people don't realize how little actual control they actually have over their lives until disaster strikes.

Some ppl do not like hearing God's Word. They prefer partying and having "da time of their lives". When disaster comes they are afraid of dying and so they feel like their lives are being threatened, so they quickly act to this by going to church.

many don't think going to church is necessary, but when disaster strikes they want comfort and answers and reassurances that God still loves them

They forget about Him until something bad happens, then they go crying to him for help. People are prideful by nature.
