Sad but true. I got my first telemarketing call on my cell phone. Since I didn't recognize the number, I refused the call but called back on my landline. The telemarketer who answered, rudely shunted me to a pre-recorded message that basically said, we are making telemarketing calls to your cell, and if you don't like it, tough. Obviously, this is something they are doing to thousands of people and have prepared to ignore the huge number of people who will call them and complain. My response was to register all of my family's cell phone numbers on the National Do Not Call list. My landline telemarketing calls have dropped to zero since I registered. If they dare call again, I'm reporting them. A $10,000 fine for each complaint should put a stop to this crap.

It's very annoying. Almost as annoying as people who don't read questions carefully before answering them! Sound familiar? :)

This is first time you have gotten a telemarketing call on your cell??? You're lucky...I have been getting them for the 5 years I've had my number. I get really nasty with them when they call my phone, and they stop...but new companies call all the time. And, ironically, I have registered my numbers on all do not call lists I can find. It does no good. I'd report them if I knew where...

I'm so blessed that I don't need an evil cell phone ... I don't have to be a slave to people "Wanting" and "Needing" ... especially those telemarketers ... yeah, the "Do Not Call" List has been great for my home phone.

Yep, my mom told me about it a few days before it went into effect. She also told me about the 'do not call list' and I put my number on it. You should put this in a category that most people read like 'singles and dating' or 'diet and fitness' because this is really important. People should know. Thanks for leaving the website link. Especially, since alot of kids have cell phones that their parents pay for.

I recently got rid of my cellphone altogether, because I hadn't used it in months and didn't want to keep paying for something I wasn't using.
