i know a friend who uses it and i'm trying to get her to stop....she says it's 100% legal but i know it's not...isn't it illegal????

but..i seriously want her to stop...he gets it @ another friends house. and 1 day she asked if she could do it on mine and i was like "NO! I'll get in trouble." but she still does the music downloads.HELP.

she doesn't have at her house! i know...she says "my parents will kill me!" so i said "THEN DON'T DO IT!!!" but sh won't listen to me.....she wants free music.....she disgusts me sumtimes....

im also scare that we could be blamed for her downloading...she has a friend who's dad is a music producer....but he lets his daughter use limewire 4 music!!! he's letting his daughter rip him off on music!!!!

KaZaA used to claim their software and protocols legal, but they're truly not legal - any P2P client for that matter, whether gnutella, freenet, or any other server. DO NOT do anything drastic about it (most people who have dsl/cable use it often, and there are way too many people to stop) tell her not to, and that she can be sewed for as much money as the government well pleases. all internet providers will be notified not to allow service to her/her parents w/e.

Limewire the program is legal, but using limewire to download copyrighted music or videos IS ILLEGAL.

Downloading limewire isn't illegal, but using it to download pirated software is. I have never heard of anyone getting busted for using/abusing it though. You were wise to not let your friend use it on your computer, limewire is dangerous to use because of the possibility of downloading viruses that could damage your PC.

using limewire is legal, using limewire to download music, videos, any type of data is legal. using limewire to download data that is copyrighted is illegal. so just dont download copyrighted works. people work there asses off to create these movies or cds, just pay for them dont be a pain in the ***.

Your friend is right. Limewire is very legal. Downloading material that has a copyright or restriction or trademark is ILLEGAL.
Pretty good friend for trying to get her to stop. I would let her learn her lesson.

I don't see wat the big deal is i mean its not like ur friend is the only one who uses it...i download music legally now but i never used to.....but limewire ruins ur comp afta a while so u might wanna warn her!!
