Primates, whales/dolphins, elephants, manatees, octopus. Also wolves are the smartest of all canines, even smarter than a German Sheppard. Mammals tend to be smarter than the other types of animals like reptiles, birds, etc.

Dolphins. I think their brain is even bigger than humans, and they can be taught sign language and understand humans, and they have sonar to find their food and tell other dolphins that there is food there. They use the sonar by making clicking and sqeeking noises and it bounces off the food and the sound goes back and they hear it and it keeps going back to tell the other dolphins behind that there is food there. Some people think dolphins are dead pirates. They swim very fast, they can be taught tricks, they save some people from sharks, in a fight between a shark and a dolphin adolphin will usually win because in rams its bottle-shaped mouth into the shark, they sleep with one eye open. Dolphins used to live on land but moved to the sea, they can go on beaches to get food on land and they can always get back into the water by sliding off the beach on their right side. Dolphins are one of my favorite animals! I am the second smartest.

Since humans are animals, they are definitely the smartest animals. After humans come other primates and then probably Cetaceans (whales and dolphins). After that I don't know.
