Journalism.
She dropped out of Yale in late season 5 after her boyfriend's father told her she didn't have what it takes to be a journalist (he gave Rory an intern at one of his papers as hush money after a horrible dinner at his house)....
ANYWAY...in seaosn 6 she went back to Yale and has continued to pursue journalism.
