Everyone was happy, and now its total bedlam. Can't these genocidal severums all just get along??

I knew this was going to happen eventually but I didn't think it would be so sudden. I moved the silver dollars to another tank and the only real casulty was the red tail shark - who had been meaner than the severums. So, this WWIII is between the lovey-dovey pair, and the other two severums who look confused. Maybe I'll stick them in my KOI pond for the rest of the summer and hope to recatch them later. Or buy another 55 gal tank?

Wow - they're guarding freshly deposited eggs! I wonder if I should even try removing the other two severums now? I'm afraid chasing them around the tank trying to net them would be too tramatic for everyone. But do I need 500 baby fish?

They're cichlids. Cichlids are, as a general rule, aggressive. Some moreso than others, but aggression is a cichlid trait.

Something has upset the balance in your tank. Without knowing all the details, my best guess would be that two of them have paired up and want to have little genocidal fishies. This pair will select and defend a section of the aquarium, driving off or killing any other fish that get too close. And if the size of your aquarium means that everywhere in it is too close... which would also mean that the others can't actually be driven off... well... you get the idea.

Unfortunately, WWIII might be worldwide suicide, as a consequence in reply in your query, so long as there may be rational superpowers who suppose in MAD, there might be no WW3. By definition, the following international battle wil be nuclear, how would it now not. In a nuclear battle there might be no winner. In a nuclear international, the one actual enemy is battle itself. The subsequent World War will contain a nuclear alternate, how would it now not if either side suppose no rate for victory might be too prime. In the primary half-hour, just about one billion men and women may have been vaporised, usually within the US, Russia, Europe, China and Japan. Another one million.five billion will die in a while thereafter from radiation poisoning. The northern hemisphere might be plunged into lengthy discomfort and barbarity. Eventually the nuclear iciness will unfold to the southern hemisphere and all plant lifestyles will die. You ask what nation could be successful, you're asking whilst can we dedicate worldwide suicide. My reply is it may not occur quickly on account that the bigger superpowers are extra rational than the rump states within the center east. While we pay attention speak of a nuclear-Iran or a war of words with NorKor, little is alleged approximately the two bulls within the glass store. The arsenals of Russia and the US are sufficient to break one million Hiroshimas. But there are fewer than 3000 towns at the Earth with populations of one hundred,000 or extra. You can not discover whatever like one million Hiroshimas to obliterate. Prime navy and commercial objectives which might be some distance from towns are relatively infrequent. Our largest hazard is from an unintended release by way of the Russians. At the factor of worldwide suicide, it's not relevant who's on what part.... In a nuclear age like i mentioned earlier than, the one actual enemy is battle itself.

Buy another tank! Before mixing fish. Research if the breeds can live with each other. It would help

Usually you can get several different types of fish but they have to be within the same size and look similar. I made the mistake of buying a sucker fish and these tiny little frog things. The frogs disappeared.

Some fish hate each other. You should have done some research before putting them in your aquarium.
