I would not do that. Why don't you put them away or clean them again when you return?

No problem. I have the cleanest dishes in the world. My system is to never empty the dishwasher. I just take out what i need and then after meals I run the dishwasher again with the dirty and the clean dishes in it. I have been doing this for three years. Neither my bowl, coffee cup or soup spoon shows and bad effects from this. However, I am going to get a knife and fork soon and will let you know if anything changes with the added load on the dishwasher.

It would be the same as leaving them in the dish drain after washing them by hand. They might be a little smelly from sitting in an enclosed machine for such a long time, but no reason to think they might be dirty.

I would not leave them for that long of time
run the load, put the dishes away and leave the DW with the door slightly open

It would be best to put eveything in its place before you go, but there should be no harm in doing as you suggested. Should you have a water system that requires purifers then the systems will have to be ran until the water clears up for personal use. upon your return

It depends on how good your dishes are. If they're affected by moisture and steam (like stuff made of wood), they'll get damaged.
If it's just cheap ceramic plates and stuff, go ahead.
