This is one point that I am NOT liberal on, I say kill them, preferably in a barbaric manner!

Only AFTER the DNA evidence is in, should they be PHYSICALLY castrated. PERIOD. No chance of appeal.
Oh, and I am a Liberal and proud of it. But children must be protected (especially from Christians and child rapists (see oxymoron)).

I don't know that the death penalty serves any real purpose! I think they should never have an opportunity to rape a second time! They should be kept off our streets forever more and not in some holiday type camp, with good food, gyms, visitations, TV's, Libraries, workshops etc that they call a prison! I would much rather see the prisons of yesterday return to those that will never be released due to a heinous crime committed against any person! It is always worse when it involves a child, I have 2 and would kill for them and although I'm in The Netherlands I have been following the story of Destiny Norton and I'm sickened as much as saddened. But if you look at Laci Petersons story, her mother is also devastated by the crime that was committed. In the end, we are all somebodies children so again, harsher prison conditions and life imprisonment where the liberties of freedom and comfort have been completely removed.
For those that commit lesser crimes and will be released I am all for decent conditions, rehabilitation measures and being treated with a level of dignity and respect, simply in the hope that when released they stand a chance of being a valuable, productive member of society because after all that person once released could end as my neighbour!

I'd like to see child rapists get the punishment they deserve, which would be death. They don't deserve to live after harming a child like that.
I worry, however, that putting a death penalty on this crime might create a backlash and cause more child deaths instead of just child rapes. If the child rapists knows that they will be put to death if they're convicted, they might just decide to kill the child so that the child will not be able to testify against them. They might feel their chances of getting away with the crime are higher if the body is never found, so they might dispose of the body in such a way that the parents never know what happened to their child.
It's a complicated issue.

Instead of giving rapists the death penalty, remove their genitals with an alternate method to urinate. After he serves his term, and is realeased, label him in society as dangerous - with a permanent message on his forehead, arms, legs, face, etc. Let's see him try to survive by trying to find a job or even trying to have a conversation with people. This would definitely discourage grown men from picking on children.

How come they managed to offend 3 times.....that's the issue. The death penalty would have cured that one straight off. Sex crimes against children have to be the most sickening crimes commited by the worlds most disturbed personalities. There should be no mercy for the offender in these cases.

Why not the 1st offense? Why wait until 2 more lives are destroyed?
What if their 2nd or 3rd victim is your child? Do you still favor 3 strikes or just 1?

1st offense should be life in prison, in a dark cell, that smells, no chance of parol, 23 and half hours of lockdown a day.
now that is punishment, sick criminals arent afraid of the death penalty so it doesnt do anything. rotting in a cell would suck, send them there. cause they are the lowest crap on earth

They should never have the chance to attempt a second child rape. They should have their genitals removed from their bodies, and then have a tattoo put on their foreheads which says, "I want to rape your child." If that doesn't cause them to kill themselves, at least everyone will know they are deranged sicko loser perverts who can't control their sexual deviancy.

Don't you think killing is too easy? Let them stay in a cage for
the rest of their lives.
I don't get all this killing. Why don't we let scientists do their work
& try to discover what gene, chemical, or some other imbalance
is causing this behavior? While they're behind bars, that is.
I'm so sick of killing - I don't know what's happened to my
country.
