A Muslim country in the Middle-East. An Asian footballing giant and most of all, a country whom some silly readers like the ones above, write long boring details about, when the topic category clearly states, football.
Iran will grow stronger as a footballing nation, will probably win the Asian Cup soon and they have the largest stadium. I think more than 100,000 fans watch them, every time they play in Tehran.

Iran is a Persian State. It was once conquered by Alexander the Great, and the influence of ancient Greece can be seen in the architecture. their original religions were divided between the Persian Pantheon and Zoarosterism.
These days, Iran is governed by a Muslim Theocracy. The majority of the people are Shi'ia Muslims. They have ethnic Kurds living in the nothwest. Most of the Kurds are Sunni. However, most of the northern and central portions of the county are Bedouin (Nomadic Shepherd Tribes by Ancestry) while the south is mostly Fellahin (Farming Tribes by Ancestry). their national language is Persian-Farsi, not Arabic.
Though a theocracy, they do seek many of the gifts of modern life and are not as "backwater" as many believe. They have scientists and scholars. they have electricity and internet. They have indoor plumbing. Tehran is a very modern city, especially when comapred to Mogadishu, Somolia.
Most of the people are very peaceful, but they do listen intently to the words of hteir political and religious leader, the ayatollah. Think of the Ayatollah as being Pope John Paul and President Ronald Regan all-in-one, only Persian and Muslim.
Iran does seek to be a world power. Most civilized countries do. The cultural differences between western states and them cause much misunderstanding and friction. They still harbor hard feelings over the crusades. The country has a couple of terrorist groups that they sponsor. Others they harbor. There are a few more that found havens in Iran's borders, but Iran doesn't want them there, either. But those groups do little against Iran, so Iran sees no need to attack them.
I hope this gives you a partial answer to this question.
