Yes, it's called a wood roach, looks exactly like a cockroach with wings, except that it's about an inch and a half, to two inches long.

yes- they are awful - you can be there sitting and minding your own business and buzzzzzz - this huge ugly bug flies right into your hair and gets all tangled because his legs have hooks on them - they are AWFUL! Scares the crud right outta ya! If that freaks you out - don't ever move to Houston!
