Donate them to Purple Heart or Goodwill. You get rid of the stuff and you can use it as a tax deduction.

You can call Big Brothers, Lighthouse For The Blind, Salvation Army or any of your local charities and they will probably come and get it. Or you could always put it at the curb with a price sticker. Someone will either honour the price or steal it, either way, you'll be rid of it.

If they are goners then Daniel said it best. Ask someone with a truck to help you take it to the landfil. Our landfill here is free for household goods. It's the proper thing to do.

If they have any life left then post it in the

free weekly
laundry mat
local market
local college etc

Check to see if your city has a freecycle group. You post what you have and some one comes and gets it if they want it. There are thrift store that will pick up. Salvation Army, St Vincent DePaul, and Purple Heart I believe all pick up for free.

If in decent shape, donate to Salvation Army, Goodwill, or any such charity. Or sell them by putting up some well placed flyers.
