Though she has said she doesn't want to run, if nominated Condoleezza Rice would probably represent the Republicans, and even if she went against Hillary she would probably win. However, if she isn't elected... I see great things in our future if Illinois jr senator Barack Obama becomes president. This guy is just great if you haven't heard of him or seen him. 70% of his state supports him, higher than any other state. But he's young, so it could be a while.

I know it shouldn't matter, but I really think this country and the world would benefit from a minority US president.

Define "minority": JFK was Catholic and that was very
much an issue in the national debate.

You're better off being specific (in no particular order):
When do you think this country will elect an hispanic President?
When do you think this country will elect a female President?
When do you think this country will elect a ******* President?
When do you think this country will elect a homosexual President?
When do you think this country will elect a mongoloid President?
When do you think this country will elect an atheist President?

I'll bet that at least 2 will happen in the next 20 years.
I'll also bet that we've already had an atheist President or two,
but not one that has admitted so to the public.

Barack Obama statement is not a very good indicator of his popularity, yes is a pretty good senator, and may make a fine president but his opposition ran for like a month or two before the election, and was only put there to make sure someone ran for the seat. the nomination was vacant for months and Barack was able to get a lot of votes because of it.
What this country needs is the right person for the job. Man or woman, black, white or other. It will not help this country to put someone in the office, just because we think we are ready for a minority or woman in the office, if they are moron. We have had enough morons there.
As far as Condi, she is a war monger that has no problems sending our troops into harms way even though there is no way she would ever be sent there, she is cross, in reality not the right person for the job. I am not that up on all the politicians in the country, I am in Illinois and like Obama, but would not vote him in as president because right now he is too willing to follow direct party lines.
The best person for the job is the one that will say, this party has good idea about this, and I would like to know more, and this party has a good idea about this and I would like to know more, instead of a democrat came up with the idea so it will never work. or vise versa.

No minority will ever be president because the world is ending next week......

No just kidding.

Do you count a females as a minority? If so then I would say Hillary has a pretty good chance. However I do not believe she will win. I"m a college student and she has been saying some pretty hurtful things about us lately.

I do not foresee any true minority president in the near future. However I do believe we are ready for one.

I don't see how this country could benefit from Rice being a nominee /elected president .No one in their right mind wants another Bush in the White House.
I do think it is time for a minority to become president,I would vote for Hillery Clinton .But there has to be someone out there that is better. And yes I think that Obama is a good person to watch....
Elana we already had a moron ,we have Bush

I don't know, it seems like most people tend to vote for people like them or close to them. Since whites are still the majority here, even subconciously, they would probably rather vote for a white person, even if they have no other problems with the minority candidate. It will be interesting to see in the next 30 years though how the situation changes as whites start making up less than 50% of the country.

Whoever it is will definitely be a Republican. Republicans have put more minorities into positions of power (Condi Rice, Collin Powell, Alberto Gonzoles, Clarence Thomas, etc.) than Democrats. Democrats are all talk, and no action.

As long as it's not someone connected to the Bush family, I believe we shouldnt worry about who it is. However, minority speaking... Denzel Washington would make a TERRIFIC president!!!!

I was really pulling for Colin Powell. I would have voted for him in a heartbeat. Wasn't meant to be I guess.
