It is because the proverb "money doesn't grow on trees" has become so popular that banks have named their sites as 'branches'.In this way banks are actually advertising that the money they have is so easy to acquire that it is almost as if it's the customer's itself in the first place.

lol I think that is funny good one..But they don't just have branches. They also have roots to. If you dont beleave me go to a bank for a lone and see if you don't get the root!!!
