I'd pull the plug on oil and foreign trade, because I don't think they're that great of an idea, the way we do it now, anyway...
used to be, something imported was a rarity, now it's the norm.
Used to be, people could walk a city block on their own and not cry about it, now it's air-conditioned comfort, or no deal.
I'd make lots of speeches about values, and people standing on their own 2 feet in life, and I'd end welfare, at least the current way we do it. I'd encourage people to read more, to be more solution-oriented, and not to be so greedy. And, I'd build a city on the moon, just to prove it could be done! LOL

I would probably start out with high ideals for sweeping change in cultures, massive reductions in crime and poverty, changes in the corporate world, more space exploration, good environmental stewardship etc. Then more than likely, after my absolute power began to corrupt me, I would degenerate into a tyrant and dictator. I think that would happen to anyone. Absolute power and all that...

It wouldnt be any different from the democracy we define in the books..the only difference between my democracy and the one we know of now is i wouldnt take advantage of my people and i wouldnt cheat them of there rights...i would be an honest leader........
