So, so true. I loved what Rep. Steve King (R-IA) said and everyone jumped on him:

""My wife lives here with me, and I can tell you… she’s at far greater risk being a civilian in Washington, D.C. than an average civilian in Iraq."

There were 45 violent deaths per 100,000 people in DC in 2003 and only 27.51 per 100,000 in Iraq - the whole country!

There is a slight difference. Washington is part of the United States and the government has responsibilities there. Last time I checked Iraq was a sovereign nation, of course, that may have changed.

So, since you're so concerned about violence and the "sanctity of life", should we outlaw guns because a majority of the deaths in Washington were gun related? I "ran away" from the city a long time ago, and I and my family are much happier and safer because of it.

Now, how many innocent bystanders have been killed as a direct result of violence in D.C.? Compare that with the number of innocent bystanders that have been killed as a direct result of violence in Iraq. Where have Americans taken the most innocent lives? Which is the greater disaster? Silly neo-cons.

As far as Iraq goes, we broke it now we have to fix it. Maybe the smarter option would have been to not break it in the first place...

Maybe we need to enforce a Democracy there, like we do every where else.
Look around the Country, east and west it is all over. No one is safe in their own homes. The disrespect for others and lives is way out of Control. If we are not watching , we will soon have our American Militants ,against our Government. We cannot continue to worry over other Governments, while our has became so corrupt. Why do we have so many Homeless, Out of work Veterans besides the Citizens, We promise to rebuild the World and we cannot even furnish housing for our own people. Most cannot afford Medical services or medications. as for those Gangs The Country might need to set up the old fence wire concentration camps for those Idiots, and Feed them Rice three times a day , forget all that nice human rights thing they are not even good humans.

This is the Big Lie!! Were may I ask did you get your phony statements from? You must be a RepubliTURD just like your lying leader, George W. Bush. For the last few weeks over 100 people a day have been slaughtered in Iraq and you want everyone to believe more than that are dying in DC. What so funny is that all the stupid conservaTARDS that are responding to your question believe your premise just like the viewers of Fox News and followers of George W. Bush. the yellow-bellied, chicken-sh*t coward who made sure he didn't see any combat when he was in the service. You should be ashamed of your self for perpetuating such a big lie. Of course conservaTARDs don't have a conscience.

numbers, please? No numbers=hype. 'libs' is Coulterian hyperbole, meant to insult and inflame, has little or no merit in any discussion.

The CITIZENS of Washington, D.C. need to unite in a massive neighborhood watch. Find the criminals, and put them behind bars for a good long time to reconsider their actions...the D.C. police need to widely enlist the public to help them. How do you do that? With a hotline. With the web. With volunteers. All that good stuff. And, with Immigrations and Customs Enforcement, because from what I've read, there's one heck of an illegal immigration problem on the east coast. People that break laws do it out of desperation, and once you've started down the dark path....so, start pushing for immigration enforcement, get to the heart of the problem. There aren't enough jail cells for them all...

Your facts are simply wrong, silly, not so smart, Republican. More than 6,000 Iraqi civilians have died in the just the last 2 months. The morgues can't keep up. We have violent cities here but none of them have anywhere near the tens of thousands of people dying violently that Iraq does. Facts speak for themselves - and apparently you have none.

The Washington Post says 194 people were violently killed in D.C. in 2005. You really want to claim that is more than Iraq?

Hey, what happened is Cheney does a bit of pigeon hunting in D.C. It relaxes him.
As for you, 100 a day are dying in Iraq everyday. It doesn't matter that so called insurgents are killing them, because our occupation created hundreds of new insurgents. And the more arrogant and crazy Bush becomes, the more insurgents from all over the world will arrive in the middle East.

We should bomb those city's and force them to elect a democrat government, with free elections.

Send in our troops and democratize the insurgent gang bangers.

Plus think of the business opportunity's Halliburrton could provide private security and gas stations for all the members of the liberal press.

We could turn those insurgents into Redpublicans in a few days and say "Mission Accomplished"

Go big red Go

Why don't you go join the DCPD drug enforcement unit? Or for that matter, go enlist in the Army?

Until you have been there, you really cant ever understand. I talked to the Iraqi's IN THERE OWN LANGUAGE, nothing lost in translation. They hated Sadam only slightly less than they hate the US meddling in their affairs. We shouldnt have been there in the first place, and everyone knows it.

It's like saying more people are injured or killed playing Basketball than Skydiving. That is true, but it doesnt mean we should keep ban basketball .....

Gosh you are stupid, if you do not know that D.C. is in America and Iraq is not even a state yet. If you do not see the difference there is no hope for you. You should kill yourself to stop from being in the gene pool.
