Women still get paid less, do more lower status/low paid jobs, within the home a woman still does an average of 19 hours more work (incl unpaid) compared to her male parnter.. Women are treated as decorations - revered when they look young/pretty and humilated for aging or getting older. Female tv presenters, singers etc all have to be decorations first.. B****, W****, s***, c***, Mother ****** - all female hating tone. Single mothers get derided not dead beat dads.. Women always have a male surname, women are depicted in really degrading way in porn/tabloids.. etc etc

Another example - in the UK recently there is a moral panic that girls are out performing boys in school..underlying message is this is not the natural order because there was no similar outcry in the 50's when girls were denied access to all types of education and performed more poorly as a result..
All traditionally female asscociated occupations are paid much less eg nurse, teacher etc compared to joiner, plumber, firefighter
The term man is used to mean women as well - yet if you used women to mean men it would sound daft..
There are numerous examples of it - just wondered why

Incidentally, noticed that it is not just men who treat them so - women too are good at putting other women down.. the old 'I prefer to work with men - women are too bitchy adage..' - Women are good at standing up for men but not for their own gender.

FTR I don't base who I am on being young/good looking.. but every ad in mags or tv tells me that I am not ok as I am - whether it for make up or whatever.. women are coerced into correcting themselves..look how indelibly the sight of Julia Roberts not shaving under her arms is to us all.. to not do it is to be called up on it.. any celeb who lets themselves go in anyway is called on it - same for normal women. I wish it wasn't that way but it is..

No. Women are NOT inferior. Inferior people start wars, invent killing machines, throw their weight around- & treat emotionally weaker people- like dirt. How many women do YOU know fit that description? Intellectually "challenged" brutes are inferior...- and very FEW of those- are women. Want more proof?- Check your local jail or prison. -Some of them end up in those.

Baby, this is in no way an answer because there is none except that it is a man's world and NO WE are NOT INFERIOR!! We are smarter! We let men think they are superior so that there will be a lot more peace in the world! Men have to feel as if they are the almighty ,Have you noticed that there is no woman president?? Nor may not ever be?? Because men rule the earth and unfortunately that will never change,Not unless someone like Hilary Clinton can run but somehow I doubt that will happen either way! If you look around you on television,Movies,Magazines even WOMEN"S MAGAZINES there are nothing but half naked women advertising everything!! If women ever ran anything it would totally amaze me! Women just get the workload,Have children, shop, clean the house,do all the banking and take care of the house and nowadays usually work too!And it's expecred because we can handle it.A scenario: A Family A Dad,Mother,2 children 10 &13 Both kids are sick w/flu And so are the Mom & Dad. Dad stays home from work so do kids from School so Mom Gets up in the AM and gets everything ready for everyone and goes to work(Sick) Comes home for lunch fixes everyone up makes soup and passes out meds and goes back to work til end of day then comes home to do it again! Then the Dad whines I don't feel good honey and drives the woman nuts! So do the kids!! Who takes care of MOM??? Who else but MOM!!!!! From the beginning of time that is how it has been and how it will always be!!The Moral of the story is that women are not inferior and men are poor little babies who need us to do thier work for them why they get the credit for it!! Except for those FEW who are ablle to do things for themselves! And it is a KNOWN FACT:Men make more money than women for the most part because they do and that is an unjust reason but it's all I 've got!!

I would be happy to kick back and the women do it all , but I don't think that is what you meant.
Women went to working outside the home during World War 2 (Rosie the Riveter)
When the Men came back the women didn't go home, more people same amount of jobs equaled less pay. Women were willing to work for less pay then, and now it takes two peoples income to have the standard of living people had before the war. Laws have made thing more equal for women and actually where I worked I feel a reverse discrimination has been practiced , I read a memo that said women and minorities were to hired and promoted to meet quota's.
I don't feel women are inferior in any way to men except for lifting and other physical ways.
Women are treated differently because they have the babies and the boobies.
And should always be treated as the gentler sex and as as ladies.

Throughout history the roles of the genders have switched back and forth. Neither sex is superior or inferior to the other. It is incumbent upon the individual to create they're own relevance. While it is true that cultures can place greater emphasis on a specific gender, this does not by default make that gender superior. While it is true that, as a rule, men have greater body strength then women, in these times that is no longer a factor in the equation. Through the advancement of the suffrage movement and equal opportunity, and affirmative action and civil rights laws the playing field has been leveled in such a way as to insure that all will be afforded the same opportunity's. Now it is up to you to step up to the plate and take advantage of it. Those in power are of the "Old boy's club" mentality and will do whatever they can to maintain the status quo. You decide if they will be allowed to do so.

im sorry to say most are but it is more because they choose to be:
concentrate on learning how to do things (like men do) and not so much on makeup and what you are wearing and then you will go far. you could learn a trade in a week and then make 100+ per hour!
do not have children or be in a hurry to marry or have a boyfriend.
do not tell me having children is the same as supporting a whole family by yourself. even an animal can raise offspring so I am not impressed by your ability to get pregnant.
if you are really equal then do not allow a man to pay for you, or buy you more than you buy him, or pay alimony and say he took the best years of my life and talked me into sex etc. and if a woman has sex with a guy under 18, that should be statutory rape too and get the same punsihment a man would.
being young does not last. why base your self worth on something you cannot control?
how can women be a minority when they are 51%+ ?
if you want a woman president then have one! even if every man didnt want that, they could not stop it.

This sounds like a homework question! Are you doing feminism in English?
I beleive that men and women are equal. We are members of the same species. There are obvious differences but there are far more similarities which we overlook because they are so obvious. For example both men and women have the same number of limbs, a head which grows hair and contains a large brain, a torso, toes and fingers. You could even say that we both have reproductive organs. When we have sex, the contractions of the vagina happen at exactly the same rate as the contractions which force semen from the penis. Men and women are very alike in many ways.
Society is gradually coming around to this idea. In the past women were often treated as inferior beings because the few differences which I mentioned were highlighted by religion, politics and societal values. Women were constantly pregnant which made them appear weak, malnourishment from constant preganancy and breast feeding made them much smaller and weaker than men. Men therefore saw women as inferior creatures made for the purpose of producing their babies. Obviously this is completely wrong. Women are completely equal to men in every way it just happens that our bodies are evolved to carry babies and give birth and men's are not. Now, with birth control, we have the choice and therefore the power which we never had before to find our natural place as equals to men.

Its because you have such tiny weiners and because men are such lean mean fighting machines.
Seriously. Tens of thousands of years of breeding resulted in the seeming imbalance of power between men and women.
Stereotypically men solve problems by brute force and have a need to beat other guys (agreed not all). Women solve problems by mutual consent and are OK to co-exist with other women of equal ability (agreed not all). Men that don't fit that mold are deemed losers and women that don't are universally disliked.
This is reinforced by social norms. Most women won't date a loser as first choice and most men won't aim for a natural born leader.
But its an interesting question. Because it assumes women are inferior if they don't place well according to the rules of a so-far male dominated world. I would rather see women strive for inequality with men and aim for something that is better than what men have created.
For example we (men) seem to have evolved an increasingly global economic model that generates unbelievable waste, only works if it keeps expanding and is slowly (actually quite rapidly as of late) choking the planet to death.
So Girls, Ladies, Women ... if you just aim to be men's equal then perhaps all hope is lost.

We are a complement to a man. We are in charge of raising the child and the household. We give childbirth , we can work 2 jobs make dinner ,go to school fulltime and take the dog to the vet . We are strong , smart and unstoppable. Men fall all over themselves when put on some perfume and skirt. Women aren't inferior , just have a differnt job in life.

There are certain things that women cannot do because of their lesser body build, but for the most part women can do everything men can do.
The inferiority issue stems from HUNDREDS of generations of society MAKING women that way, and women allowing it to happen. Today's "modern, liberal" women are doing things that even 100 years ago would have been, at best, scandalous! Today, inferiority is simply an excuse, and a way for controlling, chauvinist men to keep women oppressed.

In the past, men thought that women were inferior, after all women never got the right to vote until 1920. Men do make more money than women doing the same job, etc.; however, women are not inferior as every one is created equal, more ppl need to view it that way.
