The wealthiest 10% of Americans pay 90% of all taxes. When taxes were cut across the board, that 105 is still paying 90% of the taxes. So how do you figure it was a giveaway to the wealthy?

Minimum wage is a stupid concept. Wages are set by demand. If no one will work for $5 an hour, (as is the case here) the wage rises to where people will apply. Force companies to pay $20 an hour, and they will cut 90% of their hourly workers

Blackmail? Hardly. The facts are that SMALL BUSINESS tax cuts are essential to any increase in the minimum wage. This isn't about a tax giveaway to the richest Americans; stop watching CNN and reading the NY Times. The facts are that increases in the minimum wage price people out of the labor market by forcing companies to pay more for labor and thus having less capital to devote to labor resources. By also including small business tax cuts, these small businesses are able to afford an increase in the minimum wage. You may think that a minimum wage increase is nothing, but consider what a small business actually is. Many are "mom and pop" stores and don't have a lot of capital to begin with; not large corporations nor wealthy Americans like you make it out to be.

Do you consider it blackmail to force all employers to pay unskilled laborers more than they are worth? If somebody is doing a job that is only worth $5 an hour, how is it not blackmail to force me to pay him more?

If you force me to pay him $7, and I can pay somebody with the same skill set $3 in Mexico, then you just cost Americans jobs.

I can't believe there are actually people out there who vote democrat. Our capitalistic economy depends on INVESTMENT. The wealthy people are the ones who INVEST, not the poor.
