I don't try to shop at Wal-Mart anymore just for the reasons you say. But sometimes its hard not to. My problem is a old friend of mine is a assistant manager at the local Wal-Mart here so I just like to go in to flirt with her.
The prices aren't too much different in reality. In my area we used to have a K-Mart and Parmida but once both of those stores closed Wal-Mart raised there prices 5-25% on everything. I know that because within 50 miles from here there are 4 Wal-Marts and the other 3 with competition have all the same prices but the one by itself is higher.
I like shopping at locally owned grocery stores now, the prices are only like $.25 cents different, big deal whats an extra $5 to 10 dollars going to matter on the bill, most people are so cheap on stuff like their dumb. I also go to Target Alco, and Dollar General mostly. I live in a rural area, that's why I'm surrounded by Wal-Marts.
The Wal-Marts are dirtier than the other stores plus the stuff is kind of crappy.

Where do you suggest we shop? I do my grocery shopping at the Wal Mart Supercenter where I live because there is a better selection and the prices are a lot better than Food Lion or Harris Teeter. Yes, Harris Teeter has a great selection in their meat department, but honestly I can not afford to pay that much. I buy my kids clothes at Wal Mart because what is the point of paying so much money for something they are going to stain or grow out of in a matter of months? I have only occasionally bought my clothes from there because I can never find any thing that fits right. And where else would you suggest I buy Christmas gifts? Toys R Us or KB Toys for the kids?? I don't think so! I refuse to pay that much money for the same toy I can get for less money at Wal Mart. I'm not saying I would never shop at these places or any other store, but if its something I can find at Wal Mart guess where I'm going.

I hate Walmart, but I still go there. Hey, I'm trying to make it and it's hard. I don't have an "All American" store on my corner - what about you?
Besides, not all their products are made in China. We buy toy cars that my son LOVES from Wally World and they are made in mid-west USA (do not remember the state)... they are inexpensive, but not cheap, I love those toys.
If you look deep, it's hard to buy all American stuff.... somewhere somehow something comes from another country. I hope that in other countries, people buy stuff from USA because it's better quality and then we reap the benefits??? I don't know if that happens though.

I buy food at WalMart because the prices are lower than our other local grocery stores, and taxable items are even less. We have three brand new WalMart Supercenters in the town where I live, and they are in excellent condition. Regarding supporting the economies of other countries - so what. I try ot live my life in support of humanity as a whole and don't discriminate against people and label them invalid because of geography.
Many of WalMart's products are still made in the US, though not as many as when Sam Walton was alive - he made certain his distribution centers purchased ONLY products that were American-made.

because many american families can't afford to be shopping at more expensive stores, they naturally buy the cheapest things from the cheapest stores. most people have more important things to worry about than supporting another country's economy instead of their own. they instead choose to worry about taking care of their family and make choices that make financial sense. so lighten up on them.
ps i avoid wal mart because i can afford to go elsewhere, and walmart is squashing small business growth.

surely you may stop buying there. That corparation helps to cripple usa. the government has informed them they could initiate offering extra proper coverage to extra workers, because of the fact it exchange into discovered that Walmart workers are a measurable burden on government help. additionally, in case you have been paying interest to the presidential campaigns you're actually conscious that Walmart exchange into the heavy hitter in getting the invoice squashed that would make inspections on imported packing containers mandatory. properly..a year later we've tens of millions of poisoned and contaminated toys all in the time of usa. thank you to circulate Wal-Mart the government could close them down
