How can you come to reasonable societal conclusions based on remote controls? I usually make fun of people for the hell of it, but you really are a moron.

I own 2, one for the TV and one for the DVD player. However, many home have many more than what I do and it shows that Americans are becoming lazier and lazier b/c when I was a child, we did not have remote. Instead, we had to get up and change the channel on the TV and today we do not even have to do that.

I live in a big house, so I have a total of 11 remote controls. This means we're really into modern technologies and we apporove of it and support it, but that also means that we're just too lazy to read and depend on our visuals more..Which has a lot of consequences.

i have 10 remotes to 5 TV's, 2 DVD's 2 VCR's and 1 stereo system. And it says nothing about society. About me however it says i like gadgets and controlling them from across the room. ;-)

I have only the ones that I need. I don't feel this says anything about society. A better question is how many cars do people have sitting in their driveway at night?

i have a lot of them.......somewhere. they strangely disappear and i have to go buy new ones. my house is very small and every time i loose one i look every where but they are no where to be found. someday im going to find a stack of about 50 remotes in the weirdest spot.

It depends on your equipment because there are remotes that are programable for all of your entertainment equipment! You just have to be able to afford them they even have touch screen!
