Usually other countries are very critical about the US getting involved in the business and happenings of conflicts in other countries. Now, these same countries are asking us to get involved in the Middle East crisis for a cease fire. Why do they suddenly want our involvement? Are they just hypocrites?

Because everybody needs something to complain about...if the U.S. would've gotten involved at the beginning w/out anyone else saying anything, then it would've been "why are they always getting involved in affairs that are none of their business?" Damned if you do, damned if you don't!

The reason they want the US to be involved in the cease fire agreements is because they know that the US and Israel are very closely allied. They know that if the US were to say "Stop fighting" Israel would most likely do so. No other world power has that ability in this situation.

Most of the countries you refer to (Egypt, Saudi Arabia, etc.) see Israel as a US lap dog that is actually just fighting a proxy war for us against Hezbollah, Iran's proxy.

I guess they figure the US pokes it's nose in everybody's business all the time anyway so why not now?

Once a poker always a poker.....it's their reputation.

Because they know the U.S. is the only country that can solve anything.
