It all depends on where you live. The cost of living is different all over the place. Give that info and maybe there can be a comparison made.

for a lead developer that sounds a bit low. Search online for salary calculators, I think Monster.com has one, but I don't remember for sure.

It depends where you live. It sounds a little low for California. But not everyone wants to live in earthquake / fire / mudslide / traffic jam country.

if you're on of those programmers living in Hyderebad, India - then you're getting paid more than enough!

That's pretty low- I'd be asking for 100k or so. But it depends if you're actually any good at it.
