Advertisement like this may surely get you one :) There are lot of people who hv outdated models (generally tech guys who's system are outdated in a year or two but very good for most of us) and they never use it and buy a new one. Also there are people who hv with minor repairs which the company might fix it free for you. Keep posting more requests like this and some generous person might donate. Also mention how you would repay by prayers and also by helping others.

Some libraries (especially college libraries, and other school systems) have laptops that can be rented for a period of time. If you are in school somewhere, you can check out that option.
As far as free, you may find a church or charity that has laptops that have been donated for free, or very little money.

Try checking in skips behind large offices, occaisionally they throw out reasonably new computers. If not, there are websites for companies that aren't quite so wasteful, and will either sell their old systems for very low prices, or maybe even give them away. Do some googling.

Einstien is right, there are no free laptops (or free anything for that matter). You can find fairly cheap, refurbished computers at www.retrobox.com.

Not free, but maybe you could rent to own at a "RENT A CENTER" type of place. I know they carry pc's and laptops.
It would be a lesser cost than to pay for all of it up front.
Good luck.

Try writing to the companies (Dell, Compaq) and explain your situation. Or local businesses too.
