I went to Smart Computing magazine's Q&A Board to see if I could find an answer for you. I got busy answering questions and ended up staying there for awhile :-) They don't give points, but the satisfaction of knowing I've helped someone with a computer problem is motivation enough.

What I found about your problem. It suggested that you first do a search for winword.exe (no quotes or anything) If it isn't there you could do System Restore which will take your computer back to a time before the problem started. If that doesn't work or you don't want to do that, you will need to re-install Word.

I's sorry, but you have to re-install Word if that happens.
