I'm not sure your friend said that, but most of the Canadians I know like Americans very much. They wish their own media would pay more attention to Canada and not try to copy everything that the American media does, because they do love Canada more, of course.
I don't know any Canadians who think of all Americans as immoral, but they do see Canadians as morally very good. As for guns, I can't think of anyone outside the US who thinks that this country has a rational approach to firearms.

I don't think ALL Canadians believe anything - not even if
Mickey Mouse is a real mouse or not.
Certainly some Canadians think United States citizens are
idiots - and in many cases, they are right.
I suspect that MORE Canadians think that our President
is an idiot - and I happen to agree with them.
However, Canadians know (as do we, if we think about it)
that this country is not just a reflection of its current President.
We're not an awful neighbor now (well, we COULD be worse),
and eventually, our politics will change.
"This too shall pass".

Not all canadians think that way. I know that some of them are, but there are a few canadians like that too. I'm a canadian, and I know a lot of nice americans, unfortunately i know a ton of ignorant one's as well lol.
