I wore a ring I got from my grandmother on my left ring finger just becuase it didn't fit on any other finger., It was gold with my birthstone int he shape of a heart. This guy at my college asked me out to the movies, then cancelled. When I asked his best friend what was up he said that he saw my ring and figured it was a promise ring, so he freaked out, thinknig he had asked out a promised girl. I laughed really hard and told him what the deal was. It was funny

Mexicans wear gold bands instead of diamonds. When I was 16 and I was in Mexico I got sooo sick of all the Mexican guys hitting on me... even up to age 30... I was like yeah this is enough so I got a gold band to put on my finger so I would look like I wasn't single. It didn't work too well.

yes, I did that at my job at the hardware store. Too many weird guys would hit on me and they left me alone once I got that ring. haha. Weird thing was that once I had a real ring (promise ring, not engagement, but still) then it started again.

I do it when I go clubbing with my friends. I go to have a few drinks and dance with my friends, not to get felt up on by some random nasty guy, eww.
