Many times a physician will have a woman use birth control pills for a period of time, and then take her off of them, with the hopes she will begin to ovulate regularly.

Many physicians advise using an alternative B/C for three months, after coming off of the B/C pill, before trying to get pregnant.

I suggest you call your gynecologist and speak with his nurse, and express your wishes to start trying for a baby, and ask what the physician recommends.

Many times when a woman has had problems with ovulation a physician will prescribe..provera.

It is always best to seek the advice of a physician before starting or stopping any medication, including birth control pills.

Good Luck :)

I had irregular cycles, and most likely was not ovulating; then I was on birth control for two years, and my periods were perfectly regular; but I've been off it the last couple months and have not been ovulating! If you want kids, going on birthcontrol won't get you there! After you get off birth control, your cycle will go right back to the way it was. You've got to talk to your doctor about finding another way, or find out what logic he's using.

Well to conceive naturally providing that you have a regular 28 day cycle or so, you can try having sex fourteen days after your last period, that is, if you decide to stop taking the pills. If it doesnt happen immdediately still continue trying this for a month or two. The 14th or so day usually means ovulation although it can be the 10th day after your last period or the 17th. Nothing beats a try I guess. Good luck!

Get a second opinion from a different doctor. Definately.

Yes I've heard of taking bc pills to get your body in a rhythm (sp?), but I believe that's "old school" medicine and there are newer/better options than that.

Do what your doctor says. People on here aren't going to be able to help you more than your doc. The BC pills are only temporary and can help to regulate your cycle.
