The rumors were really heating up a few days ago involving Lugo to the Jays for some young pitching.. but now its looking alot like he's gunna re-sign with the Rays.
I want the rays to trade him.. They could get some good Bullpen help,and maybe a young starting Prospect ..
And if and when he is dealt Me, along with all the other Rays fans, can finally see the long anticipated call up of BJ Upton.. which could also lead to the call up of Delmon Young as well.. but probably not till next year..
But this could all mean nothing if he signs a new contract..
Will Lugo be traded or will he resign.
Oh and if your gunna answer this question with "THE DEVILRAYS SUCK" .. let me just thank you in advance for stating the obvious ..

no .. they actually offered them the contract yesterday.. that doesnt mean anything anyway.. he's gunna conter it today for too much the Rays can handle, and get traded .. unless he counters the offer with something the Rays can pay

This one is a tough situation. The Rays are a small market team that can't afford to give big contracts anytime in the near future, with the revenues and the direction of this team is heading. Unless a city gives a boost, I don't see Lugo staying with the Rays. They say there working on an extension, but I don't think that Lugo will accept any offer from the team, similar to what Lee did before he got traded to the Rangers today. He is an ideal leadoff man who plays in a scares position and relativiely cheap. I see teams like Toronto, Minnesota, and Houston going after him for prospects. As for Upton, I don't see him playing SS, as he lacks the defense to play at that position, but rather as a 3B, and Young needs an attitude adjustment before he gets called up.

there is no way they are gonna sign him, sorry bud. either they trade him now (50-50 if you ask me) or they'll take the draft picks when he splits in the offseason.
