My girl friend can't spend the night because she can't find a babysitter for her 14 year old son. As far as I can tell, all he does is sit at the computer and play games 24-7, so it seems to me like he would not even know she was gone. He has no bedtime, so he usually stays up all night and sleeps all day.

It would depend on his maturity level and the laws in your state, some have an age limit on when kids can be home alone overnight.
can't she find a friend or relative where he can spend the night? sounds a little like the kid is ignored a bit, so am guessing he's not very mature and wouldn't know what to do in an emergency.
Are u sure it's worth it?
Good Luck
