who says that's bad.......
well communism is the distribution ruling of production by labours them selves. in todays world, only few ppl owns the capital (machinary needed for the production and money) so we (others, even engineers and technitians) are labourers who r working to enhance the wealth of the rich ppl. n in future, bill gates will be (juz n Ex.) more powerfull than many of the worlds countries. bcoz the person who hav the power to invest has the power for everything
but in communism, all sorts of production will be handled by government, which is powerd by the labourers, so in turn labours will be governing the production and, accumulation of income in rich people will be stopped. difference between rich n poor will be reduced (that doesnt mean that every one will hav the same amount of money, cars, homes, "WIVES" n so... but since the money accumulation in few places is stopped, everyone is happy with the portion of the profit the whole production makes) So everyone will hav equal oppertunities with free education, free health support..., maintained by the government .
N what i really admire iz that the stress of living will no more be there with a well laid communism.
but the problem is the corruption of government authorities. but with a strict leader, that can easily be overcame.

The theory is actually not bad (I've never read it but had friends who told me what it was - I mean, I knew the basics), although I do like to have things that belong to me. But the problem is that people who have been in power have always been despots and have used communism as a tool to make themselves rich and to become objects of cults (which is contrary to the doctrine since everybody is supposed to be equal). Ever read Animal Farm by George Orwell? Well, that's what happened! It starts with "Everybody is equal", but ends as "Everybody is equal, but some people are more equal than others"!! You should read it, it's pretty funny!
Anyway. Basically, in practice, it ends with people having no privacy and no choice. Well, at least that's what has always happened. Anyway, I don't think it can work because ... we are human beings!!!
I think some people in America confuse communism with socialism, though. It's not the same at all! I mean, it's got the same idea of giving everybody equal chances (of course, it's difficult to make it happen), but you still have private property and it's less rigid.
Even in France, communism is considered as being extreme. And we are a socialist country (well, our president is not, but most of our laws, etc. are)!

Communism, or "Marxism," as it is known today, is an oppressive form of government that allows very little freedom to those who live under its influence. Look at the National Socialist Party of Germany that existed under Adolph Hitler (Socialism is the kissing cousin of Marxism), the Communist government of Russia which finally fell so that the people of Russia could live in freedom, Communist China where people are still being persecuted at an alarming rate; and the "Socialist," but really Marxist government of Cuba, which forces many people who are yearning for freedom to try and escape that country several times a week. You ask: "Is it bad?" I say, yes. You ask: "Are we conditioned to think so?" I say that no, we are not conditioned to think so... history has proven it so many times over.

communism isn't bad, its the people who are in charge of a communist society that are bad. Read the book Animal Farm. Or, if you can't take the time, find the movie.

you should have been locked in a concentration camp in Siberia, you should have been persecuted by the agency of security, your mail should have been read before you even got it, your friends and relatives should have spied on you, you should have not been allowed to ask this question by the censorship... then you should have talked so freely about it.

It assumes that all people can function in a system and be just and fair to each other. Which unfortunately doesn't work.
