I must admit there are times when questions like this particular one gives me pause, or even shock. But I will say that the subtle and masculine approach is best., Even when I was shy in school, I charged forward with a sense of purpose. After a while, I was the guy most girls desired, causing shyness to fade.

be yourself, first of all. guys have to have a sense of humor, but don't over do it. have confidence in yourself and what you're doing and how you look. first impressions? well on the first day of school girls put a lot of effort into their looks usually, so give a girl a compliment ("you look nice", "nice tan", "cool shoes", etc.) and mean it. smile, too.
