...this is only place where can be yourself without people really being able to judge. theres no to try and impress anyone, since the saying goes, "strangers cant judge." out off the years i been chatting, i've only found about 20 people that stay true to themself. ironically i'll never meet them in real life...

People lie because they do not like who they are and feel the need to embellish. Sadly, most people are desperate to be accepted by total strangers. I really don't understand why, but that's the way most people are.
My dad gave me a piece of advice when I was very young that helped me to "find myself."
"Do you like everyone that you ever meet?" he asked me. Of course no one does. "Well then," he continued, "why should everyone you ever meet like you?"
When you believe that, and stop seeking approval from everyone, you will find true happiness, because the only person you ever need to impress is yourself.

I used to lie alllll the time when I first started to chat. What's your name? Oh, it's... Monica. How old are you? Umm... 21? I thought it was the most cunning thing I could possibly be doing. Hehehehe I'm lying and they'll never know! Hehehehe!
These days, I don't chat all that much but when I do I'm usually pretty honest. Lying about yourself is the best way to drag your self-confidence ithrough the mud. There is no need to lie if you are proud of who you are.

Why do people feel the need to lie, period? I'll never understand it. I'd rather be hated for telling the truth then loved for telling lies.

Cuz everyone wants to feel accepted and the easiest way to do that is to please everyone and in order to please everyone, you have to be something that you aren't (because if you stay as yourself, you are imperfect, everyone is).
